April is the write month for writers!

April is filled with chocolate bunnies, spring, and three huge writing events for writers. NaPoWriMo, Camp NaNoWriMo, and the A 2 Z Blogging Challenge.

NaPoWriMo celebrates National Poetry Month and challenges writers to pen a new poem every day of April. You can sign up at their website and get more information to participate with other poets around the world.

Camp NaNoWriMo is a spin-off of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). Camp NaNo takes place in April and another session in July each year. What makes this 30 day challenge unique are the project options.

Writers can choose to what type of project to write or to edit. The Categories you can pick from are novel, non-fiction, revision, script, short stories or other.

Then you have the option of setting your word count goal anywhere from 10k words and up. There are also other choices besides word counts for your goal. You can chose to set a number of pages, lines, hours, or minutes a day as well. These options are excellent if you are going to edit a manuscript.

You can pitch your tent and camp on your own or opt into a cabin with other writers around the globe to share your writing sorrows or joys making this an experience not just a challenge.

The A to Z Blogging Challenge is something a little different. This is a really great challenge for new bloggers to get involved in. You can find followers and follow some really great blogs from the master list. In this challenge you blog daily, with the exception of Sundays but not on the first for this particular year, a post with a topic that begins with the letters of the alphabet.

For instance, on April first you will begin with A, Monday the 2nd will be… well B.
You don’t have to be a novelist or poet to participate you can blog on any topic you wish. Your daily life, recipes, a photo blog, vlog whatever your muse encourages you to post.

Now you have no excuse to write something in April, take the challenge and dive in! I will be participating in A to Z and Camp NaNo this year. Comment below on what you’ll be writing.
